I read an article over the weekend about a 59 year old heart doctor. This guy has made a name for himself as the only person in the world to do back-to-back Ironman Triathlons in the same day. He has done this 4 times in his life.
In case you were wondering or unaware:
An Ironman Triathlon is:
-a 2.4 mile swim
-a 112 mile bike ride
-a 26.2 mile run.
X2. In one day.
While it is a beyond physically daunting challenge, he said the battle is won…or lost in his mind. He said he believes he has mastered the art of ‘talking to himself.’ Too often, we listen to ourselves rather than talk to ourselves. We listen to…our doubts. Our fears. Our limitations. However, he has learned to speak life and truth into the negativity so easily capable of pulling us down…and sending us into a downward spiral.
No doubt stress is mounting for you. No doubt you will be met with a thousand energy vampires manifested in a number of ways. How are you going to respond? By listening to the lies of cynicism and pessimism? Or, by doing battle, and speaking truth and life over yourself?
Win the day. I’m in your corner. Take care- pja
