I read this quote this morning from Toni Morrison.
"When a child walks in the room, your child or anybody else's child, do your eyes light up? That's what they're looking for.”
Sub out child. You can really put anyone in this sentence.
This was convicting to me this morning. I thought of how focused we get on our task list…and we can go the day without paying attention to those around us who are doing awesome work.
I challenge you this morning to be mindful of those around you- recognize them - thank them - if nothing else, greet them.
This will go a long way in building culture. May we make CY a place people love to show up to everyday.
